The hallmark of every BAM Civiel construction project: punctuality, also that of the automated work places and their construction sites. the request to Databasement: Optimise the data traffic between the temporary locations. Previously a server was purchased and configured for every project, now thanks to Riverbed Steelhead Appliance technology the remote sites can work with central servers just as if they were on the same LAN, thus making an extra server per project redundant.
This approach makes it possible to move data speedily over the WAN just as if it were a LAN; especially multiple e-mails with Word and Excel attachments as well as heavy AutoCAD files.
An effective solution: the users at BAM Civiel experience data flow as if they were using a local server, whilst in reality they are using a centrally managed server at their HQ .
This new approach has many advantages: higher application availability, temporary locations are up and running much quicker, local servers are a thing of the past and Riverbed technology makes it possible to centralize and improve storage and back-up.
