NetApp has been selected by Databasement as the technology for managed storage services. With InControl Software Databasement has developed its own software which facilitates the management of large(r) NetApp environments. InControl makes it possible to use NetApp technology in a scalable and efficient way as a managed store service.
An important reason for Databasement in the choice of NetApp, was the fact that it is a unique unified storage technology. All forms of storage and connectivity come together in one storage platform: scalable, efficient and thus advantageous.
In order to warrant the data consistency NetApp has a unique snapshot technology. This makes a complete backup/copy of the data possible within a few seconds without impacting the users.
NetApp ensures integrated replication based on IP transport of snapshots for consistent copies.
In addition is also possible to do synchronous replication using fibre channel.
